Lines for a Song

This is a picture of my index card that I used to do this project.

Line Project

My friend just moved into her new apartment.  She was telling me about all of this new furniture that she got and how much she loved the balcony.  When I walked onto the balcony I understood why she loved it as much as she did.  She had decorated the balcony to match the inside of her apartment.  These are some of the photos from the balcony.

The first photo is from the coffee table.  The wood is hatched to create a pattern of horizontal and vertical lines.

This is a photo of the area rug that she has under the coffee table.  The lines curve almost making a scale pattern between the cream and green colors.

When I was coming back from her apartment, a girl was carrying this blanket through Freedom Square, I assume she was going to do her homework outside.  I thought the lines were intricate and I asked her if she would mind if I took a picture.

This is the ottoman that is sitting on my friend's balcony.  The embroidery on the top of it was really cool and the colors were fantastic.

I took this photo when I was driving over the Bay Bridge (not very safe I know) but the clouds created a horizontal pattern that caught my eye.

Assignment 1

This picture was taken off of the balcony of my friend's condo in Ocean City, Maryland before the storm that we had this past weekend.  The movement within this photo draws your eyes to the shoreline as well as the upper left hand corner of the sky.  The horizon and the reflection off of the water shows unity.

This photo was also taken in Ocean City, Maryland while the sun was setting on our way back to the dock.  The sun is very dominant within this photo.  The wake of the boat directs your eyes to the shoreline and the sky (movement) with the sun being the focal point of the picture.

This was my favorite picture from the weekend.  The sun and the buildings are the dominant within the photo.  The ripple in the water and the shapes of the clouds as well as the color force your eyes to go in a triangle shape showing movement.

This picture was taken at the Ocean City Golf and Country Club.  The head of the bird is the focal point within the photo.  The way the light illuminates the shape of its neck and beak make your eyes focus on it immediately.  The ripple within the water makes your eyes sweep from the right side of the photo to the left.  The picture itself is not very good quality because I had to use the zoom feature on my iPhone in order to take the picture.

If you see a trend in where my pictures are from, it is because I am from Ocean City, Maryland.  When I went home this past weekend, I was able to take the photos that were necessary for this project.  Thanks for reading:)
